Kya Bliss, Performer

Back to Team
Weaving organic movement processes with philosophical discourse, Kya’s performance work is devoted to evoking visceral experiences and building compassionate conversation about what it is to be human in modern society. She originally trained as a gymnast and began dancing under the instruction of her mother, Dana Bliss, at the age of sixteen. She continued her studies at the Five College Consortium in Amherst, Massachusetts and went on to dance internationally with choreographers such as Lelsie Telford (NDT), Emily Molnar (Ballet BC), Ron Amit (Batsheva), Roberto Campanella, and Jose Navas. She now works with Heidi Duckler creating site specific pieces in Portland and beyond.
