The bulb we planted\, the one we may have forgotten\, has not forgotten us. It blooms again\, loyal and steadfast\, in the place where we buried it so many months ago. \nPerennial is a work that explores our shared experience over time and in many forms\, touching on all our senses. We began with photographs of the dancers isolated in their bedrooms\, beginning to wake from a year of hibernation. Then\, we gathered outdoors for a re-entry\, expressed through film. A printed Flipbook compiled the photos and film into physical form\, literally a movie in your hands\, a fluid remembering to enjoy and experience. \nAnd now\, the full performance and more! Please join us at the Rose Garden in Peninsula Park to see\, hear\, touch and smell Perennial in living color. \nRSVP here[/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”7287″ animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”50%” max_width_mobile=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” disable_element=”yes” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwaWQlM0QlMjJldmVudGJyaXRlLXdpZGdldC1jb250YWluZXItMTcwMjA3Nzk3MTAzJTIyJTNFJTNDJTJGZGl2JTNFJTBB[/vc_raw_html][vc_raw_js]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[/vc_raw_js][/vc_column][/vc_row]

A couple\, constrained in vast space\, tries to find a way out. Their journey takes them through a mountain of dry rocks\, a concrete void and the brittle burned bushes from the recent wildfires. Finally\, the discovery of a river provides them with open space and connection. \nAfterwards\, join Founder and Artistic Director Heidi Duckler\, graphic designer Traci Larson\, and photographer Cristal Tappan as they discuss Heidi Duckler Dance/Northwest’s upcoming project in Portland’s Peninsula Park Rose Garden\, Perennial. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwaWQlM0QlMjJldmVudGJyaXRlLXdpZGdldC1jb250YWluZXItMTQ4OTU5OTQ2MjA5JTIyJTNFJTNDJTJGZGl2JTNF[/vc_raw_html][vc_raw_js]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[/vc_raw_js][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Cooped Up 4
DESCRIPTION:The fourth iteration of our online short film festival! \nFilms: \nLost and Found by Heidi Duckler: \nLost and Found was filmed at the historic Founder’ Church of Religious Science in Los Angeles’ Koreatown in collaboration with 2SidesFilm and with music by Sarah Belle Reid and Isaac Takeuchi. Seven dancers transform the site in a work that explores health and disease in today’s world. \nAlleyways by Conrad Kaczor: \nConrad teamed up with dancer Kiel Moton in quarantine time to make something creative. They traveled through Portland’s known Art District\, Alberta Street. Kiel dances in some of the most interesting alleyways on the street; hence it’s title the Alleyways. \nLittlewood by Carla Mann: \nLittlewood is one of a series of short videos commissioned by HDD\, reflecting the place of the human body in once natural environments\, now changed (in ways large and small) by the effects of mankind. I made this video in September 2020\, just outside my home in Oregon and 8 miles from the evacuation zone of the Riverside wildfire. I was relishing my time in this small landscape\, hoping the fire wouldn’t come this far\, but trying to embed this place in my memory\, in case . . .
