This series fuses jazz and industry-style choreography—pushing dancers to explore artistry while strengthening their bodies and stage presence. We’ll dive into the performance side of dance—learning how to connect with the audience/camera\, build improvisation skills\, and develop self-confidence both on and off the floor. You’ll also work on self-motivation and body awareness through technique\, conditioning\, and guided freestyle. \nThis class is built for teens (12+) and adults\, at an intermediate level\, but all dancers—no matter your background or experience—are encouraged to join. Every session will leave you sweating\, inspired\, and more in tune with your power. \nThis workshop is part of a community-based project\, A Garden of Doors\, to bring accessible arts programming to Las Adelitas residents and the community\, nurturing local talent and celebrating diverse stories. The intimate evening will provide an inside look at HDD/NW’s process of creating a major work of movement\, place\, and storytelling. Heidi Duckler will work with dancers\, Charles Roy and Daniel Giròn and composer/percussionist Machado Mijiga\, creating a prologue to a new site specific work inspired by John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath. This piece merges music\, movement\, image and architecture in a provocative transformation of place and community. Guests are invited to enjoy wine and snacks in a relaxed\, salon-style environment that encourages creative conversation with the artists. Come As You Are is an immersive celebration of collaboration\, creativity\, and the gathering of community. \nArts for All: $5 tickets available for Oregon Trail Card holders.
