The intimate evening will provide an inside look at HDD/NW’s process of creating a major work of movement\, place\, and storytelling. Heidi Duckler will work with dancers\, Charles Roy and Daniel Giròn and composer/percussionist Machado Mijiga\, creating a prologue to a new site specific work inspired by John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath. This piece merges music\, movement\, image and architecture in a provocative transformation of place and community. Guests are invited to enjoy wine and snacks in a relaxed\, salon-style environment that encourages creative conversation with the artists. Come As You Are is an immersive celebration of collaboration\, creativity\, and the gathering of community. \nArts for All: $5 tickets available for Oregon Trail Card holders. DESCRIPTION:Heidi Duckler Dance/Northwest invites the Portland Cully Neighborhood and surrounding communities for an 8-week summer dance program at the Bienestar Community Center. Dancers Ramòn Rodriguez  will be teaching kids ages 7-12 from 11:00am-12:00pm and teens ages 13-17 from 1:00pm-2:30pm on Mondays beginning June 22nd. No prior experience is required to join. SUMMARY:Meet Me at The Meadow
DESCRIPTION:Meet Me at The Meadow is a new ribbon cutting performance created on site in response to Yinka Llori’s asphalt mural\, “Mountains Full of Blessing.” On August 8 at noon\, the dancers activate and celebrate the colorful painted pathways and rhythms of Yinka’s artwork\, moving through the space in dialogue with its patterns and energy. Spatial and relational in nature\, the work invites a deep listening to how we change in relation to one another\, while acknowledging the ways space holds memory and time. Its meaning emerges not only through what is seen in the moment\, but through what is felt and shared collectively by the audience. It is an encounter with something new and unpredictable\, an experience that ultimately brings us together as a community.
