Heather McGinn-Girón is a West Coast-based Chicana architect, and one of the less than 1.5% of architects in the U.S. who identify as Latina. In 2021, Heather founded Studio Even Odd Architecture and Design to deepen ties to her Pacific North West community, and to prioritize projects that facilitate human connection.
Over more than a decade, her work spans bespoke music and theater venues, net zero urban food halls, and tech integrated workplaces, and strives to celebrate the diverse perspectives of the human experience through design. Sustainable innovation, materials, and methods, with their generational community impact, are an integral part of her approach.
In addition to her work with Heidi Duckler Dance NW, Heather engages with a host of Portland areal initiatives including serving on the Foundation Board of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) Portland Chapter as well as regularly volunteering for youth initiatives that seek to expand representation in the Architecture and Design Industry.
