CENTRL Office is a collaborative workspace in Portland’s creative district – The Pearl, in the historic GE Supply Co. building, featuring bow trusses, steel windows and concrete floors.
Table of Contents was the collaboration between a flexible full-service workspace and a dance company that specializes in fully inhabiting workspaces through flexibility and investigation. This site-specific performance was a fulfillment of HDDT/NW’s mission to make ordinary places extraordinary through bold choreography and CENTRL’s commitment to bringing together and building partnerships within the community.
Heidi Duckler and HDDT/NW Company dancers – William Jay, Conrad Kaczor, Kya Bliss, Grace Eucker, and Kiel Moton – spent long rehearsal hours distinguishing the distinct ingredients that make up an unconventional office, which claims to be comfortable like a pair of blue jeans. This performance is Heidi Duckler’s endeavor to ascertain what makes Portland tick so distinctively. An office space with the social feeling of a coffee house and the efficiency of a factory – both weird and brilliant.
