Come As You Are Festival – PLACE

PORTLAND, OR (March 14, 2026) – Our annual Come As You Are Festival at PLACE this year was filled with excitement and an appreciation for site-specific dance. Heidi Duckler worked with dancers, Charles Roy and Daniel Giron and composer/percussionist Machado Mijiga, creating a prologue to a new site specific work inspired by John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath. This piece merged music, movement, image and architecture in a provocative transformation of place and community. Guests enjoyed wine and snacks in a relaxed, salon-style environment that encouraged creative conversation with the artists.
