Heidi Duckler Dance Northwest collaborates with Open Space Dance for ¡Ordena! 2024 – a performance food cart offering a menu of dancing dishes at the Portland Mercado August 23rd-24th.
Performing artists Ellie Toop, Elisa Trujillo, Kiri Maasen and Moira Corbett from Open Space partner with dancers from Heidi Duckler Dance Northwest to help bring awareness on the fire that happened at the Portland Mercado earlier this year. Ten percent of proceeds from the event will go toward construction costs for rebuilding interior spaces at the Mercado that were damaged by the fire.
Open Space is a creative container for dance and movement where everybody is welcomed. They offer community classes for adults, to professional training at their dance school. They bring together great minds in contemporary dance for an interdisciplinary approach that harnesses the creativity of Portland artists from all backgrounds to create bold performances grounded in movement.
